Tomorrow is Clementine's 8th birthday and a big deal for so many reasons. My eldest has now been with our family for as long as she was not; a significant threshold. I do not want to let this dividing line happen without pause and yet it seems unthinkable that there was ever a time without our Clementine. A quiet unrest seems to hint that she registers an unspoken shift too. The felt permanence of her place with us is like the slow seeping rain into parched earth and simply can not be rushed. But as each year brings us further along the timeline as a family, I trust that the "peace that passes all understanding" will take permanent hold in her heart.
SERIOUS helmet hair.
Her best bud

My eager kitchen helper.

I'm so glad she's ours. Grandma
