I have come to deeply appreciate back yards;
Yards belonging to friends who graciously host us "yardless" folks.
Yards that give my kiddos a safe and contained green space to enjoy during the hot summer days.
I am already written many times about the abundance of parks and beaches in this city, but there is something deeply relaxing about spending the morning visiting with friends while the wee ones have full reign of a back yard. Yesterday's 80+ degree weather was met with sprinklers, juice boxes and a very creative outdoor black board. Our gracious hostess invited a small parade of other "yardless" ones and we visited and played unencumbered by the restrictions of a public place. What a gift.
Artists at work
Just enough water to cool everyone off
Nothing says Summer more than naked babies and strawberries
