Our second annual pilgrimage to Leavenworth took place last week (was that only a week ago?!) The forest fires threatened the much anticipated time away, but thankfully we were out of line of danger. It was a peaceful time and the whole gang got to soak up some quiet and natural beauty while spending some much needed time together.
A tributary of the Wenatchee River as seen from the back porch.
The hot tub was a huge hit (again) and Elijah concluded that it was an adequate substitute for bathing while on vacation.
The little kids did allow the big kids to use the hot tub once in a while.

The puzzle ladies.

The Roaring River! Better know by it's original Indian name "The Numbtush" or as the early German explorers called it "Das Icyroids"
Massive blanket forts for the rainy day play.

A spontaneous swim while on a walk, (hence the lack of ANY swim wear)

The matriarch
And of course, my perpetually kind and youthful Auntie Laurie....I love this series of photos of her and Nina as they are deep in play and conversation. It personifies Auntie Laurie's willingness to engage each person on a meaningful level. You always feel important and loved when Auntie Laurie is talking to you.

Looks like fun, and gorgeous scenery! Wish I could come next time!
