First week of Summer

The first week of summer break is coming to an end and I think we have all had as much fun as the weather allows. The adjustment times varies from person to person; how much predictability, structure or freedom to feel comfortable is so variable. But I think we are getting the hang of things and I anticipate much fun ahead.

Andrew is working is normal summer schedule which is VERY busy and away from us most of the time. Once in a while we get to have him home early and in which case, we seize the day (or hours) to do something together. This week we had treats BEFORE dinner and went to the newly opened Rachel's Ginger Beer for zippy house made ginger beer and frites. Sitting in the sun together, sipping on yummy beverages reminds us of how much we enjoy each other. And is a good reprieve for Andrew from his demanding summer schedule.

Dinner in the park with friends is always something we try to work into our summer days. Sometimes they are spontaneous. Sometimes they take planning. But it's always a hallmark of summer when we dine alfresco with buddies. Especially when it's a new (to us) park with a fabulous view.

My daily quotient of coffee feels like an algebra equations;
Fluid Oz is = (#of children )(hours of sleep - cumulative hours of children's sleep)

The Seattle Center Park was high on the bucket list this year and it did not disappoint. Super high slides, climbing ropes ladders and perfect weather means that we will have to come back. Two thumbs up from all three kids!

Lakeside fun at Groveland Park and Mount Baker Beach made our normal Junuary feel more like August. Usually we are sulking indoors this time of year waiting for the weather to cooperate but early temps in the 80's means we already have a good start on our sandy fun.
