Science Camp

The last week of summer break is coming to a close and boy what a great summer this was! Beaches, amazing weather (for Seattle), time with friends.....everyone grew a foot and added to the freckle collection....Summer 2015 will close with many sweet memories.

One big highlight this summer was Nina's first Big Kid Camp! She is now officially old enough to join her brother and sister at summer camp which means that our little Nina attended a week of cheer camp, tennis camp, Sports Ball camp and science camp. Our beloved Science camp director, Sean, has entertained my children for the last 4 summers and rounded off his Hurt Family experience by having Nina this year. The theme of science camp was Grossology so my children have honed their expertise in the science of all things gross (why we have boogers, how farts work, what happens when we sneeze, etc).  Sean was kind enough to send the following photos to share with the parents.

In addition to Science Camp, Elijah also attended Sean's Geocaching camp. Geocaching is like a treasure hunt but with GPS and is really popular around here. Elijah got to explore the city, find hidden caches of treasure and leave behind new notes and booty for the next explorer to discover. They even found a geocash in the nose of the Seattle Troll!
