The youngest Hurtling turned 6 this weekend! She begins her 6th year with a missing front tooth, so just when I thought she couldn't get any cuter, we have a goofy gaped tooth smile to add to the mix.
She chose to have a mermaid cake and sushi (again) for her special celebration. And just to make sure it felt like a party, Andrew and I offered to deck her out in a proper mermaid outfit.
Thanks to Netflix, we get to enjoy all sorts of obscure shows from around the world. Nina's favorite, and the inspiration for her party, is a french cartoon called Zig and Sharko. Just think of Loony Toons but without words and with a over protective shark. Auntie Apryl delivered the tall order of a Mermaid Birthday Cake!
Auntie Ani felt that it would be only proper to also dress up as a Zig and Sharko character and came fully prepared for sushi in her lobster costume.
Me and my sushi making team!
And of course we had to celebrate with our class! What a joy it is to see Nina loved and celebrated by her amazing teacher and school chums. She is thriving in Kindergarten and well loved by her whole class.
Nina and her table mate, Jack, goofing off in their cubbies. Silliness brought to you via purple frosted bug cupcakes!
Thanks for the great pictures Sarah. A well-celebrated birthday! Grandma Wargo
